DOSTINEX® is used to treat hyperprolactinemia, a condition where there is an excess of prolactin in the blood. Elevated prolactin levels can interfere with ovulation, menstrual cycles, and fertility. By reducing prolactin levels, DOSTINEX® helps restore normal ovulation and improves the chances of conception.
It may also be prescribed to prevent milk production in women after childbirth or to manage prolactin-secreting tumors.
Back To TopThe typical starting dose for hyperprolactinemia is 0.25 mg (half a tablet) taken twice a week. Your doctor may gradually increase the dose based on your prolactin levels and response to treatment, up to a maximum of 1 mg twice weekly.
Always follow your doctor’s instructions regarding dosage and timing.
Back To TopIf you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember, unless it is close to the time of your next scheduled dose. In that case, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule.
Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed one. Contact your doctor if you are unsure.
